Analytics – The art of turning data insights into valuable actions

A tool for data insights around travel patterns, threat exposure, emergency response and usage of the Safeture platform.

Background

Data insights – bridging the gap between ineffective and optimized risk management with Analytics

To offer the best possible solution within risk management, Safeture has invested wholeheartedly in a strategy where we have teamed up with several partners. This means that both Safeture, and our partners, can focus our businesses on what we each specialize in.

Our partners are assistance providers and operate globally within the medical and security industry, allowing Safeture to concentrate on our core business, namely technology. Safeture’s partners consistently offer assistance services to customers worldwide, which vary in organizational sizes, industry, product, and much more.

With all these variations of customers and different business behaviors in mind, we want to support our partners by offering one source for your data insights. At Safeture, we want our partners to be able to help their customers understand, and thereby improve their risk management.

The pain points

Outdated, inefficient, and unintuitive data collection methods hinder data comprehension

Lack of user-friendly tool

Helping customers make better decisions regarding risk management is what every assistance provider should aspire to achieve. However, the need for a user-friendly tool for compiling data insights is a common issue for both assistance providers and their customers. Therefore, navigating those data tools becomes a hassle, and showcasing useful insights to each unique customer simply becomes too difficult.

Manual work

A second challenge is that many assistance providers must collect data manually from several different data sources when supporting customers. One significant area of employee safety to delve into is, for example, travel patternsThe assistance provider may need to collect

information from airlines, train companies, rental car companies, and hotels. It is a large amount of information. It is not entirely uncommon that the information is then compiled in an Excel sheet. Needless to say, all this is very timeconsuming. Clearly, there is a need for a seamless and fast solution that can integrate with multiple data sources to reach higher efficiency

Hard to understand the data

Understanding how to use a data insight tool must be crystal clear to an assistance provider to be able to educate customers about their behavior patterns. Ultimately, assistance providers need an easy-to-use tool to illustrate organizational behaviors related to risk management to customers.

Introducing: Safeture Analytics

Identify gold in an analytics tool with access to the latest data metrics

Being the tech provider in this ecosystem of risk management, we at Safeture have set out to strengthen our partners’ ability to help their customers with data insights. Our new Analytik module in the Safeture platform accumulates data regarding a customer’s travel patterns, threat exposure, emergency response, and platform usage. This is possible through integrations from several different data sources, reducing the need for manual work.

The four categories are structured with tabs, filtering options, Key Performance Indicators (KPI), and visual charts to create user-friendly overviews. This contributes to an enjoyable user experience and leads to pedagogical briefings of the Analytics module with their customers.

One of the categories within the Analytics module that our partners really can support their customers with, is called ‘Travels. It can demonstrate, for instance, the total amount of unique Passenger Name Record (PNR), the percentage

that is Group PNRs, estimated CO2 emissions, the total amount of kilometers traveled, and more.

The KPIs can then be specified even further by using the filtering fields. Choose a specific time span, level of country risk exposure, or why not a particular travel. The ’Travels’ category in the Analytics module also includes tabs for Travel Details and Time Spent Abroad and uses the same structure.

The vocabulary used in the module has descriptions included. By hovering, definitions will appear on the screen making Analytics a data insight tool free of uncertainty and with the built-in definitions in the module, answering questions that may arise from a customer can be done quickly. It also makes it easier for a partner to exemplify the displayed data with scenarios grounded in the customer’s reality.

The results

Building stronger relationships and a better understanding of risk management

With Safeture Analytics at hand, partners now have a user-friendly and powerful data insights tool that can be used to help their customers understand and optimize their risk management. By addressing the problems previously described, it is now possible for assistance providers to report and deliver detailed reality-based data for each customer. There is no need to make estimations or assumptions about trends in risk management.

With Analytics, our partners can directly identify trends within the module’s four categories for a customer. You could, for example, shed light on an increase in the number of days a customer has had employees traveling (and the forecast for the next six months), their most common travel destinations, and if those are classified as high-risk countries. You could emphasize their environmental footprint by stressing the total kilometers traveled and their CO2 emissions.

A close collaboration between the assistance provider and customer is created by going through the data from several different perspectives together, eventually leading to a better relationship between the two parties.

Analytics contributes to improved business intelligence for both Safeture partners’ and associated customers, which is a vital basis for better comprehension of current behavioral patterns. Thus, it leaves room for improvement regarding risk management, allowing Safeture’s partners and their customers to be proactive rather than just reactive.

The road ahead

As previously mentioned, Analytics does not only convey data about travel insights. It is also possible to create a deeper understanding of a customer’s threat exposure, its emergency response behavior and the customer’s usage of the platform. All four tabs with associated KPIs and information graphics add to an overall picture of a customer’s risk management.
